Quote: The second batch was fresh trim, non frozen.
that's your problem there. The green comes from the chlorophyll leaching out into your final product. it will also produce a "grassy" tasting hash when smoked. Personally, when making bubble hash, i dry and cure the trim for a bit before processing. Also, like you've done, it's best to throw the dried trim into the freezer for a night before processing to make the trichomes even more brittle.
Last, but not least, i would seriously discard fan leaves and such that aren't sugar coated. Most of the time this type of trim doesn't add much to your extraction since they don't contain many, if any, resin heads. Using the best quality trim will produce the best quality hash, using subpar material will produce subpar results.
Hell yes!
This dude knows what he's talking about.. great tutorial btw homeless.
I'm pissed off my buddy has my camera otherwise I would post shots of the hash I made on Mon.
Anyways, I was thinking of adding a rope/pulley system with clips on the end to lift up the bags. I did the process 3x with a 5bag 5gallon kit. I didn't throw the extra 100 down for 3 more bags.. I wish I did though now, but 5 bags is enough of a workout.
