everytime i debate an obamite, they give me this reason and that reason as to why he's so great. then i talk about money. where's the money come from for these programs? then the next question is always this: have you ever taken an economics course outside of highschool? and the response? "no". not like "no, i guess i should". just "no". "i have no idea about how the flow of money works, but go obama!"
i think saving 10bn a month by leaving iraq is a good start

...by leaving iraq and either detouring to iran or backtracking into afghanistan?

He summed up his policy as “a responsible redeployment of our combat troops that pushes Iraq’s leaders toward a political solution, rebuilds our military, and refocuses on Afghanistan and our broader security interests. http://globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=va&aid=9616
what's obama going to do with the vatican-sized US embassy in Baghdad? is he really going to pull all troops out? no he will undoubtedly leave some sort of noticeable force in iraq, just like we have in germany, japan and korea, to name a few.
obama's pulling a big cart of horse-shit and he's got a lot of buyers. i don't buy horse-shit for a second. (except to grow stuff...;))

How quickly should troops leave? His campaign Web site says the following: "Obama will immediately begin to remove our troops from Iraq. He will remove one to two combat brigades each month, and have all of our combat brigades out of Iraq within 16 months. Obama will make it clear that we will not build any permanent bases in Iraq. He will keep some troops in Iraq to protect our embassy and diplomats; if al Qaeda attempts to build a base within Iraq, he will keep troops in Iraq or elsewhere in the region to carry out targeted strikes on al Qaeda."

no no no.
dont go there.
i never watch tv. except food network. i hate faux news with a passion. i am not one of their pawns.
they are part of the reason, along with the rest of the mainstream media, that americans have been duped into this bullshit war on terror, which is just as bullshit as the war on drugs, which are both as much (if not more) a war on us as individuals, rather than the "threats" we perceive to fight..
i'm not saying it's not necessary to go into afghanistan. i realize we have unfinished business with bin laden there, as well as the rising taliban threat.
but i'm not so naive to believe that obama is just going to end the war immediately. for one thing, it is just not logistically possible. it is obvious we will have some sort of sustained presence. but it is naive to think we will fully withdraw from iraq, as so many of his supporters believe. again, i point to the occupied WWII countries. he will not stop the globalist scheme.
he also perpetuates the "threat" of iran. there has been absolutely no evidence to show that the iranians are working for any sort of weaponized nuclear program. they have enriched uranium, and have adheared to all UN resolutions regarding their situations. THEY ARE IN NO VIOLATION WHATSOEVER. yet our propaganda machine feeds us the lines that they are going to attack US! they certainly will if we provoke them, which is exactly what we're doing.

You have a skewed view also. The Iraq war and the Afghanistan war are two different conflicts. He has vowed to end the war in Iraq and continue fighting the Taliban in Afghanistan.
Did you watch the speech? he echoed those very views in the speech

Actually you are wrong. Iran is signed into the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty which specifically prohibits the enrichment of uranium
Since Iran isnt complying with the IAEA they are in violation.

i suggest the russians invade phoenix, bomb the living shit out of it, and then develop an embassy the size of the kremlin. how'd you like that one?
embassies are not american soil. it's foreign soil that we stole.

Hey if the Russians can pull it off then why not? But id love to see Russia try to invade us, we'd fuck their shit up.
Hell they can barely take over South Ossetia without having a war on their hands. Notice as soon as American troops were on the ground in the Georgian airport Russia quickly backed off.

it doesn't matter who does it.
the point is that it is wrong.
we have as much right to occupy iran and iraq as they do us. so if you're ok with us occupying other countries, you should be ok with them possibly occupying us.
our being a "superpower" is irrelevant. that doesn't put us above common law. we have no right to go over there and dictate to them what to do. they have a different culture than we do completely, so who are we to decide what's right and wrong? we have different views of right and wrong.
in our society, women are equal. in theirs, they are not. does that make them wrong? according to whom?
the whole argument is asinine. provocative wars are unamerican, and that is undoubtedly what iraq and iran are.

Maybe you should read. I said I was completely OK with Russia occupying us if they could
Maybe you should look into international law. Iran is part of the NPT agreement which states the 5 superpowers who are allowed to have nuclear weapons which include; United States, England, Russia, China, and France. Those 5 nations are responsible for safegaurding the nuclear stability of the world.

question about the NPT:

what about israel, pakistan, and all of the other nuclear-armed nations? it's not just 5 countries that have nukes.
alas, we have strayed from our original discussion. the point is that obama will not change our present course. he will not stop the iraq war. or at least not completely. he is continuing the anti-iran rhetoric spewing forth from the white house. he will worsen our economy by burdening us with extra taxpayer-funded programs that breed government bureaucracy and inefficiency.
in short,
WE ARE FUCKED.

I would hardly say Obama is continuing the anti-Iran rhetoric since he is the only person who is willing to sit down and hold face-to-face talks with Iran's President. I think that is a major step in the right direction.
I do think he will start pulling troops out of Iraq as promised, but he has also acknowledged that we will have troops there to protect our embassy and our humanitarian relief efforts such as the red cross and food aid networks.
