what would you consider the best solvent?
to me clean is first priority....no residues/left overs.
some things i want from a solvent are: clean (when finished), easy to use, easy to find* and effective.
what are all your favourites? i have only worked with ethanol and acetone, so would like some more ideas. The hexane thread up top is very interesting!

i just remembered a while ago when i first tried to use acetone. i never knew that some plastics are "melted" by acetone. my deck (concrete) still has a long scar from that day i left a bunch of herb in a plastic jar of acetone...in the sun lol...
anyway, just thought i would mention, use glass

BlargIAmDead, your headaches are probably from not have good ventilation and breathing it in....these things are all pretty unhealthy, may want to consider wearing a mask and doing it somewhere open, like outside deck or something....cant be good for you. hope it wasn't too harsh.
just a guess, but i dont think any extract can last longer than dried cactus, dried peyote buttons last years.
koons, have you done any mesc extracts yet? love to see how they turn out.

ahh gotcha. liquid does have its advantages, but recently i have found gel caps work great for powdered herbs...time consuming though!
