anyone ever used it to extract oils? i read somewhere that it was one of the best solvents, if not the best, for this. i would like to see just how much cleaner it is compared to acetone or butane or iso, which are the ones i've used.

http://www.dankspot.com/stoners/weed14/thc-resin-extraction-350.html
low boiling point (don't heat it - it can form a nerve gas and kill your ass)
chlorophyll is insoluable in chloroform
and it leaves nearly no trace in the hash
seems like a good solvent!

good but hard to get sometimes and needs to be done with a fume hood. you dont want those fumes going down the block either.

fume hoods aren't that much of a problem and unless you're making 20lbs of hash once the fumes are in the outside air they're not going to bother anyone.

do chloroform vapors rise or fall? i thought the vapors fall. which means if you have your vent elevated from ground level odor would carry further. if you use a dryer vent(at ground level for some houses) for your exhaust it wouldnt carry as far right?

the real question is: where do you go about getting some chloroform?

it's not very effective in that sense... not like in the movies.
I've heard rubbing alcohol works better.

Do you mean isopropanol? Which is the same as isopropyl alcohol and what maggotz meant when he said iso in the quote above.
