I'm dissapointed in humankind

It's hard to have intellectual conversation with sheeple.

In fact, it's hard to have a conversation with anybody whose interests don't extend beyond television.

Reality tv killed our generation's way of perceiving the world

TV has diseased our generations minds.

Now they're too dumb to know any better. They instantly reject anything that's not directly related to the TV or radio.

It's pretty depressing when everyone in town thinks you're smart just because they're to stupid to use a dictionary.

I'm disappointed that no-one nowadays thinks for themselves

For sake of conversation I'm going to use Catholics..
it also happens I was expelled from a Catholic School...haha

but would we have so many Catholics (or insert religion here) if people weren't born into it?

would people still become catholics if they weren't baptized before they had reason and any thought process of there own?

would they continue to be faithful if Catholicism wasn't drilled into their head in their brains developmental phase?

once again, nothing against catholics, just sake of convo

I agree totally, with a few exceptions History, National Geographic, and the Discovery Channel. I watch probably three hours of TV a week and usually isn't anything else but these channels. The thing I hate most about TV are those GD reality shows.

I concur. Religion is out and out a disgusting thing. Especially christianity.

I think that it's been this way for a long time though. Few people through out history have thought for themselves.

Frankly I'm tired of being surrounded by dumbasses.

I haven't watched TV in over three years, and I must say, I usually don't miss it much, although I do miss National Geographic and DIscovery channels.

I disagree. Studies have shown that religious acitvity has a significant positive impact on health and longevity.

Yea, I don't even own a working television anymore. I could feel myself getting dumber as I watched it. If I want to see a movie or some satirical show, I just search the intertubes.

Every channel on cable has some reality TV show on it. They make so much money on them because it requires so little production cost... house+cameras+"contestants"=cash money. Even the history channel has some reality TV bullshit. I wanna see more Bill and Teds excellent adventure less "reality" well i dont even watch television very much, and when i do it annoys me.

If people are living up to their own bullcrap these days, then i say run with it. As long as it gets them through the day and they don't force anything on me, then it's all gravy baby.

I'll put more up if you need.

I understand where this report is going, which I can't disagree with. But honestly, the religion itself has nothing to do with it, it's the social support that the regular church members give each other.

Such social groups don't have to be religious in order for researchers to find the same results.

Aside from that; the research results are pretty vague. What community were these results drawn from? Why study 3 times as many church members as regular community members?

It's hard for me not to see these results as at least, slightly skewed.
