Maybe from some sort of bacterial something or other, but whatever I have is obviously communicable only between people, ie a virus. You can't catch a virus from inanimate objects 
My guess is I got it from some of the food I bought from the deli.

Sure you can catch a virus from inanimate shit.
Doorknobs, keyboards, dust, showers... anything people touch/breathe on or around you can catch viruses from.

Stuff that only I have touched. Your argument doesn't make much sense, no offense. Viruses are only able to survive a couple minutes to a few hours (at most) outside of their usual environment (people in this case). You're taking what you've heard about hospitals, etc and applying it where it's not true.

Your less likely to get sick being outside often than staying inside for long periods of time.
If your house was operating room clean you wouldn't get sick unless you had guests but your immune system would degrade and you'de get very sick easily.
It's true that humans are giant petri dishes of sickness.

Petri dishes grow out organic matter.. basically anything on it. I'd like to see a petri dish that grows pure anything, contaminations occur just like in humans with sicknesses.
Bacteria, viruses, and other crap multiply in people...
what more must be said to correlate petri dishes and humans?
